Catch up Part I

Now I say that it's part 1 but what you really don't know is that it's part 1 of like a million haha I say that life has been crazy busy and full of study with a side of study and a drink of stress but there have been a lot of blessings since January so I think it's about time that I share them with you. And before I forget... these posts will be in no particular order so the first thing I'm sharing with you happened back in June but my next post could be about something from February haha

So way back in June, the day that a lot of us had been counting down to arrived and I was more than happy to welcome it with open arms... my next door neighbour (that I pretty much grew up with) and his fiance', Kirsty, were getting married. Let me tell you a little bit about their love story, I'll make it short and sweet for you all... they met each other when they were just teenagers (you can start crying now if you want, I did haha) and have been together ever since and the best part is that they were next door neighbours so Duane (my neighbour) literally fell in love with the girl next door (if you haven't already commenced crying from the sweetness now then I suspect that you may be running for the tissues at this moment haha). And let me tell you another thing... they're so good for each other and I can't wait to see the good things that life has to offer them.
Anyway back to their wedding, the venue and reception was up at Mt Tamborine and it was so pretty, it was really private and secluded but so SO beautiful!
Let's get to the photos, shall we....
The Groomsmen looking happy before the Bridal Party arrived

Myself with Alex and David (the Groom's dad and our neighbour)

Mum, myself and Alex

Alex and I; this is first photo out of like 100 haha
Our parents must be so proud of our good looks haha
Alex and I with Mama again
The bride arriving. She looked so beautiful!

This photo gets me every time. His tears brought everyone else to tears

Kirsty and her Dad walking down the aisle. I believe that this is when the tears started flowing haha

Duane reading his vows, I'm pretty sure that I'm still crying at this point haha

The signing of the paper

I love the way she looks at him in this photo, gets me every time haha

A nice photo by the Mama, she catches me off guard sometimes ;)

I can tell you another sweet thing, they were married by one of Duane's friend's Mum! So sweet

I love this photo so much!
I freaking loved the picture wall behind the cake! I got to watch all of the photos being picked leading up to the wedding and all I can say is, holy moly have they been though a lot of hairstyles haha
The newly married couple arriving :)
The cake cutting! And oh my word, they had to pick my favourite cake! I could eat my weight in red velvet cake
Well,that was a quick marriage ;)
Alex holding my neighbour, Allyx's, little girl, Elena.
I swear to God that I hold this baby all the time, she's too cute and watching her grow has been one of my favourite things, well that and watching her smile every time I walk in the room (that part gets me too haha)

All I can say about the next few photos is that there was a bar tab so there were free adult drinks and we may have really enjoyed them.... a lot

I feel like I should explain this photo... the wine's called "Kiss and Tell" so Alex got a kiss
Like I said, we really enjoyed the adult beverages ;)

You know the dancing's getting serious when the hair goes up haha
There were so many more photos taken that night but I don't think putting them up here is worth the embarrassment.. especially the photo booth photos haha

I'm so thankful to know both Duane and Kirsty and I feel so blessed to have been asked to celebrate the start of their married lives together. I may have cried 7 times that night (true story, I counted last night while I was out for dinner with them haha) but they were definitely tears of happiness. I love them with all of my heart and I can't wait to watch them go through this journey called 'life' together.

Lots of Love,

Jordyn xx

Confessional Friday

Hello friends,

Seriously, where on Earth did June and July go?! I mean, it feels like I blinked and it was over and now we're heading into birthday season and I can hardly believe it! But other than that, it is Friday so let's confess...

1. I confess that I thought that someone was talking to me at the grocery store the other day but it just turns out that they weren't talking to me but they were talking to someone else through an earpiece thing that their hair was covering; I feel like "awkward" is a massive understatement for that situation...

2. I confess that last night when I was driving to a friend's house, I seriously thought that someone was following me because they were making the exact same turns as I was for so long but it turns out that they live two houses down from her so.. crisis avoided haha

3.  I confess that Luke from 'The Bachelorette' is enough to make me want to move to Texas. Why did JoJo have to get rid of him?! Who knows though... maybe he'll be the next Bachelor? Is it too late to apply??

4.  I confess that a couple of weeks ago, I was trying to organise my life so that I could fit everything in and I can't stress this enough.. that shit is hard to do.. so hard that I may have taken many breaks and then came to the realisation that maybe taking breaks and procrastinating is the culprit for not actually being able to fit everything in, who knew haha

5. I confess that I'm not as upset for my birthday tomorrow as I was last year. Last year I was pretty much a wreck but I feel better about this year already but a lot can change in a day so keep your pretty little fingers crossed, everyone!

Now I can't say that I'll talk to you all soon because that may be an empty promise because life is crazy busy at the moment but I'll give it a shot and hopefully start sharing life things with you again..

Lots of Love,

Jordyn xx

Confessional Friday..

Hey sweet things! It's Friday so you know what that means.. it's time to confess our deepest and darkest secrets... so they probably won't be that bad but just go with me on this one haha. And here we go...

1. I confess that I was so tired last weekend that when I got into the car to go to work, I realised that I'd only put mascara on one eye. All I can say is thank god I'm quite girly and carry stuff like mascara and concealer in my bag like they're going out of fashion.

2. I confess that earlier in the week I bought a block of dairy free chocolate to use for cooking but I ended up eating the entire block before I could even read through the recipe, oops..

3. I confess that I am already in a puddle of tears over the preview for 'Me Before You'... I'm sensing a sister date for that one, which reminds me that I should probably talk to Alex about that... see folks, a non-existent memory right there..

4. I confess that I am completely swooning over the new season of 'The Bachelorette". My mum and I watched 'The Bachelor' earlier in the year and our favourite girl was JoJo so we're super excited that she's the bachelorette this season.

So there you have it lovelies, my third confessional Friday of the year... oh my goodness I've been slack..

Lots of Love,

Thankful Thursday

Well folks, welcome back to Thankful Thursday! To be completely honest, I kinda shocked myself that I came back today because my memory is non-existent these days so I might just take a moment to give myself a pat on the back for this achievement... Anyways, lets get started on this Thankful Thursday..

First and foremost, I am thankful for this country girl...

No, I don't know her personally but I'd love too and I'm certain that my sister would feel the exact same way if she was asked that question! So if any of you are oblivious to who I'm talking about and why I love her, all I have to say is that you need to look her up on YouTube or better yet, buy her cd's so that you have something to sing along to in the car or whenever an opportunity calls for a little bit of music. Carrie Underwood is a country singer that I absolutely love and I am thankful for her music that has made my sad times happy and my happy times even happier. I'm actually listening to her at the moment so it's safe to say that I'm in a really god mood and I'll be in an even better mood at the end of the year when my sweet sister and I get to see her and Keith Urban live so yay for that!

And the other thing/s I'm thankful for this Thursday are my boots! I know that that probably sounds like the stupidest thing to be thankful for but they are seriously important to me because I base majority of my autumn/winter outfits around those bad boys. And also... I freaking love boots with all of my heart, guys!
I actually had a pair last year but a certain "incident" happened and those boots passed but I don't want to dwell on it because I'll get too sad about losing those babies. But anyway, I'm thankful for my boots and for your viewing pleasure, I shall show you a photo..

I also have the exact same pair in black and this photo doesn't do them justice so when I wear them next I'll be sure to take a photo!

Anyway my lovelies, that's another Thankful Thursday done so what are you all thankful for today?

Lots of Love,

Jordyn xx

Hello... it's me..

Now now... if you didn't start singing along to Adele there then I'm afraid you're going to have to leave..

Oh my word, how are we already in June?! And you haven't heard a peep from this girl since the end of January! Well I can tell you right now that you haven't missed out on much at all because the only thing that has been consuming my time is assignments and exams... x19, I might add. So yeah, I guess you can say that my time has been filled with the unwanted. I have had some fun adventures throughout this time which I plan on sharing in my next blog post (or the one after that haha) because this post is simply just to say hello.. I've completed the semester and I am now back to share my life with you all again because my oh my, it is a lot of fun.

So stay tuned because I'll be back tomorrow to share my Thankful Thursday edition and then back on Friday for my 'Confessional Friday' because after almost 6 months, I certainly have a heck of a lot to be thankful for and even more to confess so I'll see you soon.

Lots of Love,

Confessional Friday

What a heck of a busy week it has been so I'm thankful that it's finally Friday. I had my first day of studying on Wednesday and it was a busy and information packed day and Thursday was the exact same as well but it was still so exciting and walking into the nursing building gave me a feeling where I knew that I was studying the right thing. Anyway, I believe that this post is called 'Confessional Friday' so let's do just that...

1. I confess that last Friday on bin day, I was getting ready to throw our rubbish bag into the big bin so I could take it to the curb for pick up but I was in a rush and had all of my things with me like my car keys and purse etc. so when I went to throw the bag in the bin I accidentally threw my car keys instead; after tipping the bin out completely and blocking my nose I found my keys, safe to say I won't be using that set until the smell goes away haha

2. I confess that on Wednesday I learned that I'm not really into meeting new people, like I want to talk to them but I'm constantly comparing them to my friends now and they're not the same; I obviously haven't made new friends in a while haha

3. I confess to stuffing half a bag of gummy bears into my handbag so I could have a snack on the go. Snacking's good for your waistline, don't you know?

4. I confess that I have a secret relationship with Adam Levine (before he ruined his hair!), so secret that even he is unaware of it ;) I'd marry him just for the voice haha

So now the table has turned and it's your turn to start confessing..

Lots of love,

Jordyn xx

Thankful Thursday

Well another Thankful Thursday is upon us again and last week I made the point to mention that this Thankful Thursday would also be filled with lovely people that have made my life even more blessed. So I'm going to keep my promise and make sure that this week consisted of just that...

The first thing/s I'm thankful for today are my sweet gal pals. Let me tell you something about these girls: we've all known each other for a little while now and I've been friends with one of them for 13 (almost 14) years now but we only started doing things as a group of 5 once we graduated and I'm so thankful for that! Everyone brings their own little quirk to the group, we have an innocent one, a wild one, the logical one that always gives advice, the sarcastic one and the tell it how it is one so group conversations can get interesting ;) Maintaining each of these friendships out of school has had its challenges but it has been so worth it. I love doing life with all of you xx

On this Thursday, I'm also thankful for my sweet Nan. I'm so happy and proud of the close relationship that her and I have and it's only grown stronger since the beginning of last year. Our chats usually consist of so many things like how things were in different era's, family, love, careers and balance. Let me tell you one thing about her, she's full of wisdom and knowledge and she's someone that you just look at and think "If I grow up to be half of the person that you are then I'll be a very lucky person." So thank you to my Nan for always saying something unexpected that makes me laugh and for giving me advice on ways to live a fulfilled life.

And lastly for today, I'm thankful for my cousin and all of the little adventures that happen. Going out together is a fairly recent event (like October last year recent) but each time is so much fun even if it is just a movie and dinner. So far I've climbed mountains, kayaked, visited waterfalls, I've seen countless movies and eaten an abundance of Starbucks' blueberry crumble muffins whilst watching said movies, ice skated and stayed in a club until the sun rose. So thanks for all of the successful days and here's to many more in the future.

These photos will never get old haha

So lovelies... what are you thankful for this Thursday?

Lots of love,

Jordyn xx

Weekend Happenings - January Edition

This weekend was a busy one for sure but it was so so good and I would just love to hit the rewind button. Unfortunately this weekend was the last one before I start studying again so I made sure to make use of my free time meaning that it was jam packed right from Saturday morning to Sunday night.

SATURDAY
Saturday was a really early start because I had to be ready and at my Baba's (Dad's Mum) house by 8am to meet my cousin so that we could start the semi-long drive to the Sunshine Coast. Earlier in the week we'd planned to go hiking up Mt Ngun Ngun, which is in the Glasshouse Mountains so we thought that we should get to it before it got way too hot.

Don't mind my lovely socks but it was such a beautiful drive to the mountains

This would probably be the most well-known Glasshouse Mountain

We felt like we were dying right from the beginning but we made it to the top in all our sweat and glory ;)

I don't even know what I'm looking at here but it must have been interesting haha

After we went mountain hiking, we were getting a bit hangry so we headed to Caloundra and had lunch. We then went to the beach and ended up hiring a twin kayak, which was interesting but so much fun. We stayed in our exercise clothes but whenever a boat or jet ski would pass, it made little waves that ended up going into the kayak so we had really wet butts for the rest of the day haha
Sadly there's only one photo from this little adventure because I left my phone in the car so that's a bummer.

This is our trademark photo that we take whenever we do something. It's called the 'successful day' photo haha
After kayaking we had a little ice-cream, well I had a little bit of ice-cream and Bonnie had a lot but you only live once, right? While we were eating our ice-cream we decided that we weren't ready to head home just yet so we made the decision to go and find a waterfall and that's what we did. It may have been a little waterfall but it counts...

I actually sent this photo to a friend because her Dad got married on that field last April so it brought back some good memories

I'd love to see this place after it had a lot of rain

This is right at the top above the actual waterfall

Successful day
The humidity here was insane!! So when we left we knew that the one thing we were looking forward to was a shower haha. We went straight from here to Mooloolaba so Bonnie could get a Boost juice and then we were off and on our way home. It was such a great day filled with so many adventures and laughs.

SUNDAY
Sunday started off great because I got to sleep in and it was so good, and by sleep in, I mean until 8:30 but that calls for a celebration in my opinion ;) I had a quiet morning until I headed off for lunch at my Baba's house and it was so good because my cousins were there, my Dad and sister and my Auntie so it was a real family lunch. It's usually at my Baba's house that I take sleeping photos of a certain someone and the tradition didn't end on Sunday because I got a real beauty of a photo haha and it's also here that I take unexpected photos of Bonnie at the worst times so they're hilarious, I could honestly start up a blog and share photos of those two because I have so many haha

We all left Baba's just after 4 so I headed home to get a couple of things and then I got back in the car and drove to my sister's place to go on a little date to see the movie 'Sisters', how fitting haha First thing's first, that movie is great! I highly recommend it, it has you laughing the whole way through it! and lastly, it was a cute sister date...

Awful lighting but it was the only one that we got so oops

After the movie finished, we headed back to her place and I got to hang out with this cute thing...

I love her too much
What an incredible weekend! I hope you all had a great one too filled with family, adventure and laughter.

Happy Tuesday!

Lots of love,

Jordyn xx

Photos - 2015

What a boring title, right?! But it's all I could come up with and plus, it means I can just replace the 5 with a 6 when photos are taken this year and I've got another title ;)
So I've finally gotten around to sharing photos that were taken in the beginning of December so I guess some can say that it's really late but I'll just say that it was all for the suspense ;)

So here we go... these photos were taken by two of my sister's work colleagues, Mandie and Bec, who also happen to do photography as well and the pictures turned out so well!! We've decided to go with them again this year.

This one's a throwback to so many of our childhood photos together because this was the most common "pose" we were made to do.

Both Alex and I are so happy with the way that these turned out. If you're in Brisbane/Logan/Gold Coast and are looking for someone to take professional photos for you at an incredible price that can't be beaten then definitely get into contact with these two. They create an amazingly comfortable atmosphere and they make it so much fun; also, the price that they charge includes editing and all of the photos taken. If you click on the names 'Mandie and Bec' in the beginning of this post, I've created a link to their Facebook page where you can contact them if you want photos done.

Lots of love,

Jordyn xx
